This Thursday (1), Ferrari confirmed the rumors about Lewis Hamilton’s switch from Mercedes, and announced the British driver for the 2025 season.

Last year, Hamilton had signed a multi-year contract with Mercedes for 2024 and 2025, but has broken his contract and will replace Carlos Sainz next year. He will join Ferrari in 2025 on a multi-year, undisclosed contract.

Mercedes also announced Hamilton’s departure, saying that he activated a release option in the contract announced last year. The British driver will be driving alongside Charles Leclerc, who extended his contract with Ferrari last week in an undisclosed multi-year deal.
Carlos Sainz leaves the Scuderia after four years, being the last winner for Ferrari, with victory in the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix – becoming the only driver outside of RBR to win in the last F1 season.
