The number shows why US movie executives have described the ticket hunt as equivalent “to a Marvel movie.” The success was so great that The Exorcist: The Devotee, which would open on October 13, the same date as Taylor Swift’s film, advanced its release date by a week.

This isn’t the first time a Taylor Swift concert has been taped. In 2018, the singer released the tour film “Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour” for Netflix, streaming that also has a documentary about her life, Miss Americana. In 2020, the singer also released the acoustic recording Taylor Swift – Folklore: Sessions at Long Pond Studio for Disney +.
