Marvel Studios announced on Thursday (9), the postponement of all its films scheduled for 2024 and 2025.

++ “Inside Out 2”, gets first teaser and release date for June 2024

Now, Deadpool 3 will be the brand’s only film in 2024, with Captain America 4 and Thunderbolts going, respectively, to February and July 2025. Blade was also delayed by a few months, but remains in 2025.

As a result, there is now only one Marvel film next year: previously scheduled for May 2024, Deadpool 3 opens on July 25 of the same year.

Deadpool 3 will mark the return of Hugh Jackman as the mutant Wolverine five years after Logan, which was thought of as a kind of farewell for the Australian actor from the role of Wolverine, which he has been playing since X-Men: The Movie, in 2000.

Therefore, little is known about the film’s story, only that there will be an element of time travel for Jackman’s Wolverine to return without messing with the continuity where he ended his time in the role with Logan.

The new date, of course, was for Captain America 4, which went to February 13, 2025.

Thunderbolts went from December 2024 to July 24, 2025, and Blade, whose date was February 2025, went to the end of the same year and arrived on November 6, 2025.

Outside of Marvel, Disney also postponed Mufasa, the live-action prequel to The Lion King directed by Barry Jenkins, from July 4, 2024 to December 20 of the same year.

It is good to remember that the postponements come after the end of the actors’ strike. Even with the end of the strike, the downtime caused several delays in the industry.

Furthermore, the changes come at a critical time for Marvel, which is going through some controversies and problems, such as the low reception of The Marvels at the box office and the trial of Jonathan Majors.
