Interviewed by JETSS
Sharon Stone, Jim Carrey, Naomi Watts – and many more, from politicians and philanthropists to astronauts – were among the guests at the luncheon to honor His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The event was held at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
JETSS attended the event and provides details of this magical day. Sharon Stone presented the spiritual leader of Tibet, noting that he is a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and calling him “a man for all seasons”. During the event, Ms. Stone revealed JETSS “I had already met with him a few times and I’m very happy for the opportunity to see him again. His presence calms me, I feel very comfortable at his side.”
Some of the other celebrities who were seated under the wings of the space shuttle ‘Endeavour’ included David Foster, Jeremy Renner, Larry King, Maria Shriver, Rosario Dawson, Jeremy Renner, Eva Longoria (interview), Gray Davis and Kathy Bates, who said she did not know exactly why she had been invited. “I’m lucky to be here and I cannot believe I’m here. I followed the Tibetan people for years,” Bates said.
An unexpected and humorous moment happened during His Holiness’ one-hour speech. As he was explaining the misconceptions of those who only think of only themselves, money and a materialistic life, saying: “I, I and I, ‘I’ is outdated,” Upon hearing this, Jim Carey rose from the audience, took off his jacket and with a light-hearted tone said “there was nothing wrong with that mentality of I, I, I” (referring to his famous film, (‘Me, Myself & Irene ‘), everyone laughed and later Carey tweeted about his experience.
