Adele has revealed why she found it so difficult to write songs for her new album – she was too happy!
Speaking on The Today Show, the “Hello” singer said she struggled to write more of her trademark gut-wrenching hits, because she “wasn’t sad” anymore. “I didn’t know what I wanted to write about…what’s wrong is, I wasn’t sad” she said.
The 27-year-old doesn’t seem to mind, though. “I’ve never been happier. And I’ve never been healthier,” she said.
She went on to credit her joy to her husband Simon Konecki and their 3-year-old son: “It’s only because of him and because of our kid and stuff that I’m all right.”
Adele’s third album, 25, was released in November after a long hiatus during which she chose to focus on raising her son.
