Now ladies play nice! It appears that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are back at it.
Here is the backstory… Once upon a time Katy Perry and Taylor Swift were pop-star pals. But once Perry started dating Swift’s ex-boyfriend, leader of the charming bad boy crew John Mayer, everything changed. Now, Perry has reportedly registered the title of a new tune called “1984,” according to BMI. The track title has many speculating that it’s Perry’s latest dig at Swift, considering the latter’s latest album is titled 1989 (after the year she was born).
It all started with an interview Swift gave to Rolling Stone about her song “Bad Blood.” She explained that the song is about a girl in the music industry who “basically tried to sabotage [her] an entire arena tour.” The day after the interview was released, Perry tweeted, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.” Then, there was talk about Perry wanting to get back at Swift in her Super Bowl performance. Soon afterward, Swift shared that she had no desire to discuss their feud, and rightfully so.
We all know this is about a boy!
