Britain’s Prince William is to be honored today at Lincolnshire’s wartime heroes when he visits RAF Coningsby.

The 33-year-old royal spent the day at RAF Coningsby and watched the 100th anniversary parade of 29 (Reserve) Squadron as part of a number of events that will mark the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The Duke of Cambridge was then treated to a 45 minute cruise in Dakota, a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight jet, as well as a lunch at the hangar with veteran pilots and aircrew this afternoon.

Back in July Prince William who is the Honorary Air Commandant of the Lincolnshire base joined the East Anglian Air Ambulance as a pilot and before that he served as a pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue Force in Wales.
