Australian-born media mogul Rupert Murdoch and actress-model Jerry Hall have announced their engagement.
The pair on Monday placed a classified ad in The Times, a newspaper owned by Murdoch’s News Corporation, to announce their plans to wed.
It will be a first marriage for Hall, 59, and the fourth for the 84-year-old media mogul who now holds US citizenship. Hall was previously in a long term relationship with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and although the couple lived together, they never tied the knot, BBC reports.
“They have loved these past months together,” a spokesperson told the BBC of the romance that started in the summer last year.
Murdoch split from third wife Wendi Deng in 2013 and was first seen in public with Hall at the final of the Rugby World Cup between Australia and New Zealand in October. Hall’s 23-year relationship with Jagger, with whom she shares four children, ended in 1999.
The Times reports that the couple got engaged while in Los Angeles attending the Golden Globes ceremony last weekend.
