Almost a year after the death of Jim Carrey’s ex-girlfriend, it has been revealed that she left the actor a heartbreaking suicide note.
The 30-year-old Cathriona White overdosed on prescription medication in September last year, but it has only now been revealed that she left a note for Carrey, PEOPLE reports.
“I’ve spent 3 days now in disbelief that you’re not here. I can go on brokenhearted and try to put the pieces back,” she wrote in the note police found. “I could, I just don’t have the will this time.”
White also discussed funeral plans in the tragic note, writing: “I don’t really know about burial or that sort of thing. You are my family so whatever you choose will be fine.”
She ended the note by adding, “Please forgive me. I’m just not for this world.”
She signed off the note as “Dewdrop,” likely a nickname Carrey gave her during their time together.
The Irish native met the 53-year-old actor on set in 2012 and the pair had an on-again, off-again relationship up until about a week before her suicide.
