Being in her native Brazil for the opening of the 2016 Olympic Games is a big deal for Gisele Bündchen – especially for all the yummy food!
“[Seeing] my family is the best thing I get to do when I am in Brazil,” the former supermodel told PEOPLE magazine. “I also love typical Brazilian food.”
Some of her favourite local favourites include feijao com arroz (rice and beans), farofa (a cassava flour mixture), salada de palmito (hearts of palm salad) and pao de queijo (tasty bite-sized cheese bread).
“And there is nothing better than to drink coconut water out of the coconut,” she added. “That is my favorite!”
On her role as The Girl From Ipanema in the opening ceremony that took place in Rio de Janeiro on Friday evening, the 36-year-old said: “That is for sure the longest runaway I have ever walked in my life and by far with the most amount of people watching.”
“It is a little nerve wracking I must say. This is a very special moment for my country and I am humbled that they invited me to be a part of such a special celebration.”
We are happy to report that, as usual, her walk was absolutely perfect! Enjoy your favourite foods with your family, Gisele. It is well-deserved!
