While most pop stars quit school to defy their teachers in the quest for stardom, Adele is more of a nerd.
The 28-year-old singer has revealed that she plans on resuming the education that was interrupted by that whole international stardom thing.
Adele was offered a recording contract in her early 20s, but now she feels it is time to get back behind the books.
“I’m desperate to go to university. I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s one thing I really plan on doing,” the told fans at a show in Boston.
“I was about to start university in Liverpool in England and then I got offered a record deal, so I was like, ‘Ugh, what do I do?’ Obviously I took the record deal which I don’t regret at all.”
The “Someone Like You” hitmaker also said her ideal would be to pursue a degree at Harvard University in Massachusetts, the state she was performing in.
“I want to go and do a tour of Harvard but I don’t want anyone thinking I’m smart enough to go to Harvard,” she joked. “I’m going to buy a T-shirt so I can sleep in a Harvard T-shirt. I think I would pretend to wear glasses if I went to university.”
Adele’s revelation comes not long after she revealed she plans on taking a break from touring to spend more time at home with her partner Simon Konecki and their three-year-old son Angelo.
Ugh, success. It must be hard being spoilt for choice.
