Kourtney Kardashian has put her kids on a gluten-free, dairy-free diet and she believes they are already behaving better because of it.
The reality TV star, who shares kids Mason (six), Penelope (four) and Reign (20 months) with her former partner Scott Disick, says that the strict diet does at least allow some treats.
“I have noticed a great positive change in behavior with my children, she said. “Of course, we pick our battles and I do let the kids have popcorn at the movies and a churro at Disneyland, etc.”
“But for birthday parties, which can sometimes be every weekend, I bring extra gluten and dairy-free cupcakes… and they are happy with that.”
The 37-year-old’s only daughter Penelope is a huge fan of salads so the family try to incorporate the greens into their daily meals as much as possible.
“For lunch, we usually have carrots and celery with hummus and a gluten-free rice tortilla with sliced turkey meat or turkey dogs – no bun,” she points out. “Penelope and I love salads, so we usually eat a big yummy one for lunch.”
The Keeping up with the Kardashians star added that she keeps up her strict diet for herself and her kids even when traveling on holiday.
“When we were just in Italy, we all had pizza one night. But for the rest of the trip, I found that almost every restaurant had gluten-free pastas and gluten-free bread,” she said. “We also had ice cream one evening, but almost every other night, we had lemon sorbet for dessert.”
What do you think of Kourtney’s strict policing of what her kids eat? Good or too far?
