Lady Gaga has come out in support of Selena Gomez after she decided to take a break from the spotlight.
The 30-year-old diva said she admired Gomez after she announced that she would be taking some time away from the spotlight to focus on her health.
The 24-year-old reportedly wants some time out to focus on her health as she admitted to be suffering from depression brought on as a side effect of lupus, a condition which causes inflammation of the skin.
“I would say that fame is very isolating. [It] takes a moment for you to stabilise yourself, especially if you’re really in it for the music or for your craft,” Lady Gaga said in an interview on American radio station 103.5 KTU.
“Suddenly, it’s about keeping up with your career. Or keeping up with number ones, or being on top.”
In a recent statement, Gomez opened up about her condition and said she was suffering from “anxiety, panic attacks and depression.”
“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges,” she added.
“I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off,” singer said. “Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me.”
We wish her all the best in facing her health issues.
