Angelina Jolie’s former nanny has advised her not to force a “lonely and traumatic” childhood on her kids by antagonizing Brad Pitt.
The 41-year-old star filed for divorce from Pitt last month and is seeking sole physical custody of their kids Maddox (15), Pax (12), Zahara (11), Shiloh (10) and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Now Jolie’s childhood nanny Krisann Morel, who took care of Angelina and her brother James Haven as kids, has warned the star not to repeat her parents’ mistakes.
“I want to tell her, don’t cut Brad out of the children’s lives. Don’t demonise your husband. Because that is exactly what your mother did when she was breaking up with your father,” she told Grazia magazine.
“And the result was you had a lonely and traumatic childhood. Why would you inflict the same tragedy on your kids?”
“I am worried that Angie is repeating the past and the same mistakes her mother made during her divorce,” Morel continued.
After Jolie’s father Jon Voight left her mother Marcheline Bertrand for a young drama student, the actress refused to let Voight see his children and Angelina had an infamously strained relationship with him ever since.
“Jon was portrayed as this evil figure and Marcheline succeeded in turning both his children against him. But it led to years of heartbreak and wounds that still haven’t healed to this day,” Morel said. “I’m so surprised Angie is now doing the same to her children.”
“By cutting off their dad, she is threatening to take away the one bit of stability that they have.”
