Twitter reacts to Kim Kardashian robbery

Kim Kardashian had a gun pointed at her head in an armed robbery in Paris, but people on Twitter think it is okay to make memes about it.

The reality TV star was reportedly tied up and robbed of between $5.6 and $6.7 million worth of jewels and a ring worth about 4 million euros, Reuters reports.

Robbers dressed as policemen gained entry to the star’s apartment after threatening a guard with a handgun. They then tied her up and ransacked the luxury residence for her jewels.

Her publicist Ina Treciokas found her “badly shaken but physically unharmed.”

Kim’s husband Kanye West was performing in New York City and cut his set short when the news was sent to him.

“I’m sorry I have a family emergency, I have to stop the show,” the rapper told the audience in video tweeted by fans at the Meadows Festival in Queens.

On Twitter, the peanut gallery immediately started creating memes about the incident.

“#KimKardashian held at gunpoint? I think we all know who did this (sic),” Twitter user @JakeLBennett tweeted along with a GIF of a smiling Taylor Swift.

“’Kim Kardashian’ held at gunpoint? can’t wait til keeping up with the Kardashians,at least that episode will have some ‘real’people in it (sic),” @stevemacca commented.

“50 bucks Kim Kardashian was held up at gunpoint by the same people that robbed Ryan Lochte,” comedian Ryan Broems tweeted.

“Surprised Kim Kardashian didn’t snapchat the whole thing,” Twitter user @NickJamieParker chimed in.

Kim’s fellow celebs were at least more sympathetic, with comedian James Corden tweeting: “People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she’s a mother,a daughter,a wife,a friend.Be nice or shut up.”

“Just because Kim Kardashian’s rich doesn’t mean its funny that she got robbed. Would it be funny if it was your sister? or your mother? (Sic)” internet famous “creator of memes” Jack Mull tweeted.

“Fame is interesting,” Chrissy Teigen tweeted. “Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you’d make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets.”

Whatever happens on Twitter, we hope Kim is okay. No one should have to go through that!
