Val Kilmer: I don’t have cancer!

Val Kilmer has responded to his friend Michael Douglas’ claim that he is suffering from cancer.

Speaking at a London event over the weekend, Douglas told an audience that Val was “dealing with exactly what I had,” referring to oral cancer.

“Things don’t look good for him,” Kilmer’s co-star in 1996’s The Ghost and the Darkness said. “My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”

Now, Kilmer has taken to Facebook to deny the claims, writing: “I love Michael Douglas but he is misinformed.”

“The last time I spoke to him was almost two years ago, when I asked him for a referral for a specialist to get a diagnosis for a lump in my throat, which prevented me from continuing a tour of my play CITIZEN TWAIN. (sic)”

“I ended up using a team at UCLA and have no cancer whatsoever. I still have a swollen tongue and am rehabbing steadily.”

The 56-year-old star then showed he held no grudges against Michael Douglas for publicly discussing his health issues.

“Whatever led Michael Douglas to speculate about my health, he’s a loving and devoted friend to a privileged group of talent people around the world, and I’m sure he meant no harm.”
