In a follow-up to our Meghan Markle slide-show, Jetss can report that things are not hunky-dory between Meghan and Prince Harry – or at least between the would-be-bride and the Royal Family.
A blurb in Radar Online claims that Harry’s step-mother Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall may have instigated a new round of objections to a marriage with the TV star, causing the Prince to call off wedding plans.
The report comes on the heels of a fresh scandal involving Meghan’s not-so-royal family. In January 12th, Markle’s brother Thomas Markle Jr. was arrested and charged with domestic battery for allegedly threatening his much-younger girlfriend with a firearm. The 50 year-old Oregon resident tried to explain away the incident to authorities by meekly claiming the gun was not loaded.
According to a source close to the Royal Palace, Prince Harry had just returned from a Norwegian vacation with Meghan to see the Northern Lights when the arrest story surfaced. Instead of a leisurely unpacking, Harry was immediately summoned to speak to his father, Charles.
Per the source, the 68 year-old Prince of Wales declared his son’s girlfriend nothing more than “a commoner” and mentioned her brother’s violent outburst and arrest.
There may also be blue-blooded concern over Meghan’s lineage. The young actress is bi-racial, with African-American and Caucasian parents. “I’m told there have been racist remarks made about tainting the Royal bloodline — behind closed doors,” offers the source from Radar.
But Harry is angry with his parents, not his partner, and still hopes to marry when his brother, William, assumes the throne. “He believes he’s finally found Ms. Right.”
The Prince’s biological mother, Princess Diana, also drew fire from inside the Royal Palace for dating someone outside of approved racial norms – Dr. Dodi Fayed, who died with her in a tragic 1997 car crash.
