Ashley Olsen has broken up with 58 year-old financier Richard Sachs, according to a report in Daily Mail published this morning.
According to the account, a source told US Weekly that the couple has separated because Ashley, 30, would like to focus on her Elizabeth And James fashion label.
The tycoon has been unabashed about dating a much older man, and the two were spotted happily cavorting at professional sporting events in New York City. The pair became a paparazzi item in November, taking their relationship public at a New York Knicks game where they were photographed kissing.
But unlike many recent celebrity splits, the separation appears to be amicable. “(Ashley and Richard) are still friends and still hang out,” the source told the magazine.
Meanwhile, Ashley’s twin sister Mary-Kate is ready for child-rearing with husband Olivier Sarkozy. Mary-Kate is already a stepmother to Sarkozy’s 2 teenage offspring.
A family friend has confessed that the couple, now married for 16 months, is ready for the next step. “They (Olsen and Sarkozy) really want a baby,” the insider suggested. “They have been ready to have a child for a while.”
Rumors indicate that the independent-minded Ashley may take an even higher profile in promoting her fashion line while Mary-Kate, her business partner, works on becoming a mother.
