Jennifer Lopez is a workaholic!
As she continues with the success of her show All I Have in Las Vegas, her reality show World of Dance, the action series Shades of Blue, and her upcoming new album in Spanish, J-Lo is now returning to the big screen to star and produce a new romantic comedy, Second Act, which is all about women empowerment.
“There are so many things I love about this project and script. People try to put women to sleep at a certain age. Second Act is a story that empowers the every-woman to do more, to be more, and not limit their dreams,” said Lopez about her new movie.
Director Peter Segal will helm the film, which follows a big-box store employee who, after reinventing herself, get the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as a college degree.
Peter Segal is known for his films 50 First Dates, Anger Management, and Get Smart. Second Act will be jointly produced by Lopez herself, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, producer and writer Benny Medina, and Justin Zackham.
Lopez’ recent feature roles include mystery-thriller The Boy Next Door, and animated pic Home. But between 2001 and 2005, the also-singer has starred in several successful romantic comedies, including The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan, and Shall We Dance.
We can’t wait to see J-Lo back in a rom-com!
