Kim Kardashian’s second marriage was fleetingly memorable—it lasted only 72 days. But now, almost six years after her divorce, the reality show celebrity finally revealed the main reason leading her relationship with Kris Humphries to failure.
Kardashian and the then-New Jersey Nets basketball player got engaged in May 2011, tied the knot in August 20, and by October 31 of that same year, Kim had already filed for divorce.
In an interview with Andy Cohen on May 28, Kanye West’s wife revealed she married Humphries because she was feeling pressured by time, without thinking about whether or not the relationship would last forever. “At the time […] I just thought, ‘Holy s—t’, I’m 30 years old, I better get this together. I better get married,”. She said she’s like “a lot of girls” who “go through that where they freak out ant think that they’re getting old and they have to figure it out”.
Kardashian then added she knew her marriage to Kris Humphries was over as soon as their honeymoon began.
At that time, the couple couldn’t even agree on where to live, as we saw on the reality show “Kourtney and Kim Take New York”. While Kim wanted to stay in Los Angeles and continue with her career, Humphries wanted to go back to Minnesota and start a family there. This was a major breaking point for the couple, since Kim wanted to wait to have children, but Humphries wanted to do it as soon as possible.
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries married on August 20, 2011, in Montecito, California. After her divorce with Humphries, Kardashian started dating Kanye West in April 2012. The couple married in May 2014 in Italy, and have two children together: North and Saint. Kardashian and West just celebrated their three-year wedding anniversary.
