Miley Cyrus once again pulled a “Hannah Montana” and fooled us all while wearing a wig! Only this time it wasn’t a blond, but a black falsie.
A totally recognizable Miley Cyrus shocked her New York fans with a surprise subway performance on Wednesday. What appeared to be a typical busk, happened to be Miley Cyrus and TV host Jimmy Fallon in disguise.
During the Tonight Show segment, the “Malibu” singer and Fallon decided to go undercover as subway singers at the Rockefeller Center station. “No one knows that this is going to happen”, Jimmy said to the camera, “No one knows that it’s Miley Cyrus. Let’s do this.”
The duo sport cowboy hats, wigs, and sunglasses for the not-very-effective stunt. As soon as Miley Cyrus grabbed the microphone and started singing her godmother Dolly Parton’s hit “Jolene”, commuters immediately started gathering around to listen and take photos. Fallon, or “Bart” as he called his country alter-ego, wasn’t much help, but he did have some killer moves and enthusiastically played the tambourine.
The subway then became a “Party in the U.S.A.” when Cyrus whipped off he wig and sunglasses to “reveal” her true self and sing her old tune. “This is my first time at the subway station. This is exciting s—t for me,” she joked.
Once back in the studio, the singer performed her latest tracks “Malibu” and “Inspired” for the Tonight Show crowd. Cyrus also talked about her “memorable” experience in the subway. “I will always remember it. I don’t think it’s like anyone else’s first time. I don’t get a lot of first times anymore. I’ve been every kind of crazy mascot. I’ve done a lot of crazy things, as everyone knows. That wasn’t the craziest thing I’ve ever done—even a little bit—but it was definitely memorable,” the pop star raved.
Wednesday’s commute sure wasn’t so bad for a few lucky New Yorkers!
