The dream team is back.
No, we are not talking about Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, or Magic Johnson. It’s Leo and Marty, Marty and Leo, the ultimate cinema dynamic duo.
The old buds are once again teaming up for a new movie, an adaptation of the true-crime book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI.
Flower Moon, written by The New Yorker’s David Grann, follows the murders of members of the Osage Indian nation in Oklahoma in the 1920’s after oil was discovered on their land. The mysterious deaths of the members of the tribe was one of the fledgling FBI’s first major homicide investigations.
Rights to Flower Moon, owned by Imperative, cost a reported $5million to get, and the script reportedly being adapted by Oscar-winning veteran writer Eric Roth, of Forrest Gump and Benjamin Button fame.
After previous Leo and Marty collabs, like Gags of New York, The Departed, The Aviator, and The Wolf of Wall Street, we can only expect Flower Moon to become another great classic of the seventh art.
The shooting of Flower Moon is expected to being in the spring of next year.
