J.K. Rowling Is Releasing Two New Harry Potter Books This Fall

Hold on to your broomstick: It looks like we’ll be getting two new Harry Potter books this fall!

The new two tomes are set to be released as part of Harry Potter: A History Of Magic, a London-based exhibition running from October 2017 to February 2018 celebrating 20 years of J.K. Rowling’s world of wizardry.

The first tome, eponymous to the exhibition, is the official book of the event, which “promises to take readers on a fascinating journey through the subjects studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry—from Alchemy and Potions classes through to Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures.”

The second volume, Harry Potter: A Journey Through A History of Magic, will be “packed with unseen sketches and manuscript pages from J.K. Rowling, magical illustrations from Jim Kay and weird, wonderful, and inspiring artifacts that have been magically released from the archives at the British Library.”

Both books set to be release in October will be published by the British Library in conjunction with Bloomsbury, who made the announcement on the new volumes Tuesday through their official site.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, Rowling’s first novel, was originally released on June 26, 1997. It was followed by six more best-selling books, which sold 450 million copies in 29 different languages, and the eight-part blockbuster film series starring Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, worth $7 billion, which became the second highest-grossing movie franchise of all time.
