Justin Bieber spoke out for the first time about the cancelation of the remaining dates of his Purpose World Tour. On Wednesday, the 23-year-old singer posted a note on social media thanking Beliebers for their constant support through his journey and pseudo-explaining the reason behind his abrupt decision.
“I’ve learned the more you appreciate your calling the more you want to protect your calling,” he wrote. “Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE… I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind, heard and soul to be sustainable so that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be, and the father I want to be.”
It’s been rumored Bieber pulled the plug on his tour to redirect his life toward religion. He spent the days after the announcement next to his pastor, Carl Lentz of Hillsong Church, whom Justin has known since he was a teenager.
“I am extremely blessed to have people in the past few years help me build my character back up, reminding me of who I am and who I want to be!!! Reminding me my past decisions and past relationships don’t dictate my future and future relationships.”
Despite his spiritual awakening, Justin is well aware he will never be perfect and will continue to make mistakes. Only this time around, he’s not going to let his past errors dictate his future. “I wanna be a man that learns from them and grows from them,” he wrote.
He signed off my apologizing for any grammatical errors. “I THINK THERE’S SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT IMPERFECTIONS!!”, he ended his letter. And we agree!
