Remember how we said Zayn could make a great Aladdin in the upcoming Disney live-action film? Well, let’s just say that with his new look he might as well play The Genie.
Since debuting with boy-band One Direction in 2010, and during the last two years as a solo artist, we’ve seen Zayn Maliks’ hair evolve just as much as his career. Just like Joe Jonas, he clearly isn’t afraid to experiment with his looks: rainbow hair, 90’s curtains, bleached buzz cuts…
But this—well, this is by far his most radical hair makeover yet.
On Sunday, Zayn’s mom, Trisha Malik, shared a snap of her son’s bald head. Yes, that’s right. Bald. Completely bald. There’s not a single hair left on that bare scalp.
The former One Direction singer showed off his smooth head in a selfie—which already has over 112k likes on Instagram— alongside Gigi Hadid and Trisha. And while Malik’s look understandably shocked his millions of fans, his girlfriend and mom seem noticeably happy—and I guess that’s all that really matters.
The unexpected new do comes after Zayn officially announced the release date of the first single of his upcoming second album. The new song, Disk Till Dawn, in collaboration with Sia will drop Thursday, September 7, and will also feature Girls star Jemima Krike in the music video.
I bet that the future of his new tune will be as bright as his shinny bald head!
