On Tuesday afternoon, eight people were killed and at least 11 were injured when a truck plowed into pedestrian and then hit a school bus, very close to the World Trade Center memorial site.
New York City Major, Bill de Blasio, said the incident was an “act of terror” at a press conference. A police source says the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar,” and NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill said the suspect made a statement when he exited his vehicle.
