Selena Gomez is back! Ok, ok—she “left” for only 24 hours. But when you’re the person with the most follower on Instagram, your absence will surely be noticed! What made her change her mind?
Selena Gomez, with over 130 million followers in the social network, decided to suddenly make her Instagram profile private on Tuesday morning. And while nobody is really sure about the reason behind this drastic decision, many fans of the Wolves singer suggest it all goes back to her interview with Billboard after being named the magazine’s Woman of the Year.
Apparently, shortly before padlocking her account, Selena posted a screenshot of the article in her Instagram Stories, and wrote “Never will I let another human guess my words ever again. Or invite them into my home. That is so hurtful. The most ‘ridiculous’ part of that is no one knowing my heart when I say things.”
The particular portion of the article shared on her IG Sotries—which, after 24 hours, is long gone—was about a big teddy bear she apparently keeps at her home. The screenshot read, “There’s a five-foot teddy bear sprawled across the kitchen floor in Selena Gomez’s North Hollywood home. ‘I know, I know,’ says Gomez, rolling her eyes, acknowledging that the stuffed animal doesn’t quite blend with the trio of armchairs nestled in the inviting, marble-accented nook. ‘It was a gift, and at first I thought, This is so ridiculous, I can’t wait until I give it away to another person.’ But Gomez, 25, hasn’t let go of it — yet.”
It seems that the infamous giant teddy bear has significance to her life, but it’s unclear if this was the real reason why Selena decided to go private on Instagram.
Fortunately, the blackout only lasted for 24 hours—that if you weren’t one of her 130 million loyal followers hanging off of her every post. But even if that was the case, don’t worry, you didn’t miss much! Selena hasn’t posted anything new since switching her account back to public.
But just in case, go follow her before the Queen of Instagram decides to close the doors of her castle again!
