History is in the making. Katy Perry sent Taylor Swift an actual olive branch ahead of her Reputation Stadium Tour opening show on Tuesday, making it clear she wanted to be friends with her rival put an end to their long feud once and for all.

“I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch,” Swift shared in an Instastory last night. “This means so much to me,” she says in the video, which was simply captioned with a “Thank you Katy,” along with a heart emoji.

Katy’s peace offering came along with a note that, from what we can tell, reads: “Dear Old Friend—I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hurt feelings between us. I really want to clean the air, I am deeply sorry for…”

Fans of both pop stars neve thought this moment would come, especially after their candid, not-so-cryptic singles over the last few years, starting with Swift’s 2014 iconic Bad Blood, which was believed to be directed at Perry.

Taylor talked about falling out with a high-profile star  in a Rolling Stone interview at the time, saying the person did something “so horrible” that made them “straight up-enemies.” She got more specific: “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”

Straight after the release of the article, Katy posted a shady tweet about a certain real-life “Regina George in sheep’s clothing.” Coincidence? We don’t think so! Specially after Katy’s Swish Swish which is said to be about Taylor.

Perry didn’t name any names when Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon asked if the song was about “anyone we know”, but she did say: “I think it’s a great anthem for people to use whenever someone’s trying to hold you down or bully you.”

However, a year ago, Perry tried to bury the hatchet when she apologized for past actions during a 24-hour YouTube live stream. “I’m ready to let it go,” she said in the interview. “Absolutely 100%. I forgive her, and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her, and I think it’s actually—I think it’s time.”

And so, the time has finally come.

After this, maybe we’ll see Taylor sending Kanye an olive branch and note next?
