Kevin Federline can’t keep up with the over-the-top living that Britney Spears has set for their son, and he’s now seeking for a substantial increase in the child support his ex-wife provides.
Federline’s attorney says Spears should at least triple the $20,000 monthly support she currently provides, so that the former dancer will be able to close the “extreme disparity” in lifestyles that 12-year-old Sean Preston and 11-year-old Jayden James experience when they go from mommy’s lavish mansion to daddy’s modest house.
To illustrate his point, Federline claims that Spears is a single woman living alone in a large 13,246 square foot villa on 21 acres in a gated community. The home features an elevator, a library, a media/game room, a 3,500-bottle wine cellar, a pool house, an orchard, a tennis court, and a golf course.
In contrast, Federline lives with his wife, Victoria Prince, and their two minor children, two more children from his previous relationship with Shar Jackson, and the two kids he shares with the Princess of Pop in a 2,000 square foot home.
“I am no longer able to perform as a dancer due to my age, and I have not been as successful in putting out new music as I was in 2008,” he said in his claim. “I am simply less of a ‘name’ and less in demand than I was in 2008, which has negatively affected my income.”
Federline is now working as a DJ and music producer, earning about $3,000, which he claims is less than 1% of her estimated income. While Spears has been unwilling to divulge her yearly income, Forbes magazine has placed it at $34 million.
