Halsey Announces Her Split From G-Eazy After One Year Together

While Halsey and G-Eazy have been side by side through the hardships they’ve faced in the public eye since the beginning of their relationship, the two of them have officially called it quits.

Halsey took to Instagram Stories to reveal that she and the rapper have split after one year together.

“I normally keep this kind of thing private but provided our public nature I feel the need to inform my fans. G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart,” she wrote. “I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career, and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time.”

In addition to announcing their split, she’s pretty much scrubbed all signs she’s ever known Gerald Earl Gillum—his real name—from her Instagram.

The couple kicked off their romance in 2017 were rarely seen without each other. They collaborated on the track Him & I which hit #1 on the charts. Most recently, they appeared arm-in-arm at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

She was also with him when he was arrested in Sweden and later convicted of assault, drug possession, and resisting arrest following a nightclub brawl in May. G-Eazy avoided jail time but was ordered to pay a $9,000 fine and about $850 in restitution to the victim of the assault, who was a Stockholm nightclub bouncer.

“Embarrassed and apologetic beyond words about the incident,” he wrote to his fans. The statement continued: “But above all I’m so f—– grateful they let me go, craziest experience of my life, awful night with a lot of bad luck and some even worse decisions but like I said I’m grateful as f—– to be a free man, back on tour performing for the fans.”

Could his legal troubles have anything to do with their breakup? Or does it all go down to those dirty messages he was caught sending to a mysterious woman from London? We’re going to go ahead and say it’s a little bit of both!
