Scarlett Johansson Is World’s Highest-Paid Actress Of 2018 With $40.5 Million

Being a talented Russian spy/assassin definitely pays off the bills.

Scarlet Johansson leads this year’s Forbes’ list of top female earners in Hollywood with $40.5 million in pretax earnings between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018, quadrupling her income from the previous year, according to the publication’s calculations.

In that time, Johansson, 33, was a bride-to-be in Rough Night, played a deadly superhero in Avengers: Infinity War—her biggest salary bump—, and voiced a dog in Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs.

Scarlett romp past Angelina Jolie, 43, who is a distant second on the list with $28 million, thanks largely to her upfront pay for Maleficent 2, set to be released in May 29, 2020. Brad Pitt’s other former wife, Jennifer Aniston, 49, is third, with $19.5 million, though most of her money comes from endorsements and residual income from Friends.

Last year’s highest-paid actress, Oscar-winning La La Land star Emma Stone, fell out of the top 10.

This is not Johansson’s first time atop Hollywood’s financial pedestal, having topped her Marvel co-stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in 2016 with $1.2 billion, making her the top paid actor among both men and women.

Guess when you’re making this much is not a problem to drop out of a transgender biopic after public scrutiny—amirite?
