This High Fidelity remake only keeps getting better…
Championship Vinyl has a new owner! Zoë Kravitz will step into John Cusack’s shoes to star in a gender-flipped version of Disney’s High Fidelity. The series, based on the Nick Hornby novel of the same name, will air on Disney’s forthcoming streaming service.
According to reports, the 10-episode show will once again be about a music junkie record store owner who is obsessed with pop culture trivia. Only that this time around, the record store owner will be a woman.
Zoë Kravitz cast as the new lead of the High Fidelity remake is a bit of a full circle moment. Her mother, Lisa Bonet, appeared in the original movie as John Cusack girlfriend, alongside Jack Black, Iben Hjejle, Bruce Springsteen, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
And so, it looks like those Top 5 lists are staying in the family.
As for when we can expect this reboot series to drop, details on Disney’s mysterious streaming service are still a bit foggy. So far, all we know is the platform is slated to launch in late 2019. So pencil the High Fidelity remake into your calendar for at least a year from now!
