Kanye is distancing himself from politics but he won’t get to walk off that easily.
Yeezy is apologizing (sort of) yet again. This time, for associating himself with megalomaniac Donald Trump.
“My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in,” Kanye revealed on Twitter. “I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative.”
Now don’t get us wrong. This is the day that a lot of hardcore Yeezy fans have waited for. But his remorseful words didn’t sit well with everyone on Twitter. Not only because his comments on slavery and his criticism of the 13th Amendment were 100% his words. But because many seem to think Kanye’s sudden U turn has little to do with regret and more with saving his brand.
