Ah, our wedding day! Probably most people’s dearest, most cherished memory. Unless you’re Mandy Moore’s ex-husband, Ryan Adams, who apparently doesn’t even remember getting married to the actress back in 2009.
It all started when Moore called their short-lived marriage as “not the smartest decision” and a “very unhealthy situation” in a Glamour cover story. Milo Ventimiglia’s on-screen wife also admitted she felt “spiritually and fundamentally stuck” before the couple eventually divorced in 2016.
And it seems like Mandy’s comments didn’t sit well with the musician, who responded with a few nasty tweets about the relationship that quickly went viral Thursday night.
“She didn’t like the Melvins or Blade Runner. Doomed from the start… If only I could remember the start lol,” he wrote, adding, “Sometimes you get struck to the spiritual equivalent of a soggy piece of cardboard. But it rains on net-a-porter everyday when you’re trapped inside yourself… Take the money… I’ll take my pride, any day.”
Ryan Adams has since expressed regret for his remarks, which are still floating on his Twitter page alongside his public (though indirect) apology to Mandy.
“I apologize for my remarks. I was trying to be funny. Bu have and will always choose to remember the amazing moments,” he tweeted. “It isn’t classy or ok lessen what was. I am happy for everyone and doing my best.”
Adams later shared a photo of his cats and thanks fans for their messages of support. “I am speaking with a grief/ crisis counsellor. I apologize if I cause anyone any worry,” he wrote. “Depression, anxiety/panic attacks & grief are very real and serious issues. If anyone is suffering I urge you seek help. And cats.”
Well—we think it’s safe to say Mandy Moore’s ex-husband won’t be watching the new episodes of This Is Us!
