Rihanna Rejected The Superbowl Halftime Show And Twitter Applauds Her Solidarity

Just when we thought we couldn’t love Rihanna more.

After it was announced that Maroon 5 will be playing at the Super Bowl Halftime show fans were left wondering why the NFL would choose Adam Levine & co. instead of, well, literally anyone else. And apparently it is all because of Rihanna.

According to several reports, the original Bad Gal turned down an offer to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in 2019. The reason? Out of support for Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who took a knee during the national anthem to call attention to police violence against people of color and racial injustice.

And as much as we would’ve love to see Rihanna go full Fenty on the Superbowl stage, fans are still in awe of her decision and applauding the singer for standing up for her values.
