Did Taylor Swift get her first tattoo? Just in case her album Reputation wasn’t enough to convince you that the old Tay is really dead…
Back in 2012, Taylor Swift revealed she’s never felt tempted to get a tattoo. “I don’t think I could ever commit to something permanent,” she said. Cut to nearly seven years later, it looks as if the new Taylor has changed her mind.
Early this morning, celebrity tattoo artist Jon Boy posted a photo to Instagram of a blonde woman with her back turned to the camera that has set the internet on fire.
In the picture, the mysterious woman reveals a newly inked rose tattoo on the nape of her neck modeled off of her gold necklace. Jon Boy then proceeded to tag Swift—and only Swift—in the photo and geotagged it to Welcome To New York, in reference to her famous single.
Despite the fact that the tagging style matched the way he has announced other celebrity ink, including that of Hailey Baldwin (a.k.a. Hailey Bieber) and Kaia Gerber, Swifties were skeptical it was actually the pop star featured in the picture.
So did Taylor Swift get her first tattoo?
According to People, the singer did not get inked.
It’s still unclear why Jon Boy tagged Taylor. Did he mean to tag some other girl named Taylor? Is he trying to lure Swift into getting her first tattoo? Or is this just a mere PR stunt? Because, if it is—with nearly 10,000 likes and hundreds of comments, we think it’s safe to say it’s working!
