They’re abotu to become the Fantastic Three. Jamie Bell and Kate Mara and expecting their first child together, multiple outlets report.
According to Page Six, who was first to break the news, the 35-year-old star was overheard telling fellow actress Emily Blunt that she is pregnant. The conversation allegedly occurred while they were waiting in line for the bathroom at the 2019 Golden Globes, to which Mara wore an empire line gown, disguising any signs of a bump.
Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, who have been married for over a year, famously met on the set of the 2015 Fantastic Four reboot. Mara played Sue Storm/Invisible Woman and Bell played Bell played Ben Grimm/The Thing. The film wasn’t met with the best response from critics and fans.
“There were several things on that movie I was clearly not privy to because I’m just an actor and I just do my stuff on set,” Bell said in an interview back in 2017. “But with something like that, everything starts with the best of intentions. A production begins with the idea to make something that’s unique and original and with integrity. I think the film really strive towards those goals. I don’t know what happened between the launch of the voyage and the arrival. I think we were all bitterly disappointed with that film. But that’s just the way it goes sometimes.”
So yes, the failed superhero movie may have 9 out of 100 in Rotten Tomatoes. But the fact that it led Jamie Bell and Kate Mara to find love with each other—which will soon take form of a little bundle of joy—certainly makes up for the fantastic fiasco the Fantastic Four reboot was.
