“I’m not male or female. I think I float somewhere in between,” Sam Smith confessed in an interview with Jameela Jamil over the weekend. The Grammy Award-winner further explained that when he saw the words “nonbinary” and “genderqueer” and heard people speak about these identities, he thought, ‘F—ck, that’s me.”
However, Sam Smith isn’t the first celebrity to describe themselves as neither exclusively male nor female. In fact, there’s a handful of stars who feel they don’t belong to just one gender and thus experiment with fashion, relationships, and even pronouns typically consigned to those of the natural sex.
