Shawn Mendes liked a photo of Hailey Baldwin so the internet freaked out, obviously. Why? Well, one could say it’s weird because they are exes (sort of) and now she is happily married to Justin Bieber. But Hailey’s husband doesn’t seem to care as much as their fans.

Justin Bieber took to social media Wednesday to express his love for his wife by sharing a slew of paparazzi pictures of Baldwin. That’s when the In My Blood hitmaker liked the picture, which many interpreted as is way of shooting his shot at Mrs. Bieber.

But in true Canadian fashion, Justin stood up for his fellow countryman and debunked all speculations before they had a chance to grow up legs. “Their [sci] friends relax,” the singer responded to a fan account’s screenshot of his post.

So everybody calm down!

Baldwin and Mendes were thought to be an item after they were seen cuddling multiple times and they casually went on a date to the Met Gala in May 2018. Their romance abruptly ended a month after their red carpet couple debut when Hailey and Justin got back together. Bieber eventually popped the question to her in July.

Despite the turn of events, however, Mendes seemed supporting of the couple when he publicly congratulated his ex on her engagement to Justin. So yes, Shawn Mendes liked a picture of Hailey Baldwin, but it’s already been stablished he is the nicest guy around!
