Earlier this month, Angelina Jolie was spotted dropping her eldest son off at university with his father noticeably missing. And now, the future of Brad Pitt and Maddox’ father-son relationship is even more unclear after the college boy admitted he “doesn’t know” if they’ll ever see each other again.
Speaking to paparazzi outside Yonsei University, when asked whether his estranged father would visit him at the South Korea campus, Maddox said: “I don’t know about that, what’s happening.”
As for the state of his relationship with Brad Pitt, the 18-year-old simply replied: “what happens, happens.”
Brad Pitt and Maddox’ father-son relationship took a toll in 2016 when they had an alleged altercation onboard a private jet which even had child welfare authorities carrying out an investigation on the Oscar-winner. Though Brad was later cleared of any wrongdoing, according to reports, the incident did lead to Angelina Jolie filling for divorce after 11 years together.
The highly mediatized split turned into a lengthy, bitter legal battle over the former couple’s 6 children’s custody. In December 2018, over 2 years after calling it quits, it was reported that the pair had finally reached an agreement.
However, despite the 50/50 custody arrangement, Jolie and Pitt’s their eldest son remains tight as ever with his mom, while his bond with his father still isn’t anywhere close to good. Will Brad Pitt and Maddox’ father-son relationship ever be the same?
