A Jonas brother is about to take sea in one of those red spinning chairs. Nick Jonas is the new coach on The Voice. The singer will join the singing competition for its 18th season.
“I’m so excited to be a part of The Voice family,” Nick said in a statement. “It’s such an awesome group of individuals, and I can’t wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices.”
Nick Jonas will be joining returning coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton for the The Voice’s 18th season in 2020. He will be taking over the chair occupied by Gwen Stefani, who returned as a judge after Adam Levine announced his retirement from the show.
The news that Nick Jonas is the new coach on The Voice came on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday, were she also played a video of veteran coach Blake Shelton welcoming into the family.
“Nick Jonas, how you doin’ buddy? I hear you’re were going to be a new coach on The Voice and I, first of all, wanted to say congratulations… I guess… but voice some concerns I have,” the country singer said in a prerecorded video. “I have to look through the rules, ‘cause this is my TV show. I’m not sure you’re even old enough to be a coach on The Voice, but I’m certain you’re going to get your butt kicked, buddy.”
Could this possible be the start of a new bromance? Watch out, Adam…
