The Weeknd’s new song finally has a name—his exe’s name. The singer and writer registered an upcoming track called Like Selena in the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers directory.
Abel reactivated his Instagram account Monday, after a months-long social media hiatus, to tease fans that he is ready to release new music. “The falls starts tomorrow night,” a blurry black and white picture was captioned, possibly referring to The Weeknd’s new song.
Though the 29-year-old Canadian hasn’t revealed much details about his upcoming releases, given by the title, Like Selena is likely inspired by his famous ex Selena Gomez.
For the unversed, The Weeknd and Selena Gomez started dating in January 2017. However, after a couple Instagram post and a few red carpet appearances, the pair parted way by October of the same year, blaming their breakup on their conflicting schedules.
And though Abel has since gotten back with Bella Hadid—and even broken up with her for the thousand time—, The Weeknd’s new song makes it clear that, even after two years, Sel still has some effect on him.
