Selena Gomez, 30, is in talks with 20th Century to produce a reboot of Mike Nichols’ ’80s classic “Working Girl”. According to Deadline, the film’s screenplay is being adapted by Ilana Peña and is expected to premiere on Hulu.

The cast of the production has not yet been defined and it is not known if Selena will also act in the long. Peña became known for her work on the series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” (Netflix) and “Diary of a Future President” (Disney+).

“Working Girl” was a critical and commercial triumph at the time of its first release, grossing over $100 million at the global box office and earning six Oscar nominations, including best picture and best director for Nichols.

The original version stars Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver and Melanie Griffith and follows Tess McGill, an ambitious secretary in a stock market office. She takes the lead as her boss recovers from a broken leg and introduces himself as an executive. To complicate matters, Tess falls in love with the boss’s boyfriend.
