‘Joker: Folie à Deux’: Brendan Gleeson joins sequel cast

“Joker: Folie à Deux” gained another name in the cast. Actor Brendan Gleeson, Emmy winner for HBO’s telefilm “Into the Storm” (2008), was cast by director Todd Phillips. He joins Joaquin Phoenix, reprising the role of Arthur Fleck/Joker, Lady Gaga, reportedly as Harley Quinn, and Zazie Beetz, as Sophie.

According to Deadline, the actor has been cast in a mysterious role in the sequel. Gleeson is recognized for the role of Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, he also starred in the television series ‘Mr. Mercedes”.

“Joker: Folie a Deux” will be a musical thriller and the story will be divided between the characters of Gaga and Phoenix. The feature film is written and directed by Todd Phillips, the same person responsible for the first film, which won two Oscars, including best actor for Joaquin Phoenix. The film is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024.
