Jesse Williams will revive his character, Dr. Jackson Avery of Grey’s Anatomy in the 19th season of the series. According to Deadline, Jesse returns as a guest star in the fifth episode titled “When I Get to the Border,” which is also directed by him.

Williams left the series regular of the medical drama series in 2021 after 12 seasons. But at the end of season 18 he returned to guest star, reviving his love interest with April (Sarah Drew), who does not return in this new season. Actress and producer Debbie Allen is also back in the series, reprising the role of Catherine Avery, Jackson’s mother.

Scheduled to air on November 3, the episode will show, in addition to the reunion between Jackson and Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) on a trip to Boston, the complications faced by Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Addison (Kate Walsh) in having to deal with the ectopic pregnancy of a patient.

New episodes of Grey’s Anatomy premiered on ABC on October 6th.
