According to Bloomberg, Warner Bros. Discovery is interested in making a new series about the history of Harry Potter with the aim of telling the narratives of the books in seven seasons. The work would be produced by HBO and is being finalized to start being adapted.

The film series would be a new strategy by Warner Bros. Discovery partners David Zaslav, head of HBO, and Casey Bloys to capture more streaming audiences. J.K Rowling will also be involved in the project and according to the news, she agrees to do it if the work is faithful to the seven books. The announcement is expected to be made in the middle of this month.

Previously, Warner Bros. Discovery also reported that it would be interested in producing the eighth book “The Cursed Child” in the Harry Potter saga, but so far, there have been no announcements about the project. After the last film, the studio released a saga derived from the work named “Fantastic Beasts”.

The books written by J.K Rowling tell the life of the young orphan Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), who discovers at the age of 11 that he has magical powers. He enters the renowned Hogwarts academy to learn to use these skills, and builds a great friendship with the wizards Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson).
