While the continuation of the film “Joker” does not come out, behind-the-scenes details of the recording were released by the executive producer of the work, Lawrence Sher. The information that was released last Wednesday (20), during the interview with “The Trenches TV”, states that Lady Gaga asked the cast to call her by the nickname “Lee” and, at first, it was difficult to connect with the artist.

“I try to be almost invisible to them as much as I can. And it’s interesting because with Joaquin, I remember, early on, he was in character the whole time. And the second day he kind of silently came up to me and said, ‘I’m sorry for being weird, I just need to stay focused,'” Lawrence Sher said.

With Lady Gaga it was different, the producer claims that the connection was more complex: “I remember that I didn’t know Stefani. And weirdly I didn’t even feel like I knew her even during the makeup test because, again, maybe it was my philosophy of not trying to get into their space.”

“It was like we were disconnected, like we were opposites. And I would say to my team ‘I can’t decipher it. I feel like she hates me, we hate each other or there’s something weird going on here,'” said the director who continued to explain. Lawrence Sher revealed that when Lady Gaga asked everyone to call her Lee, the scenes began to change and she managed to have the connection with the artist.
