Prosecutors have requested a six-year period of supervised release for Powell, a fine of $9,000, and an obligation to author a letter of apology to the citizens of Georgia.

For Trump, the issue at hand is that his former confidante may be called to testify in all other legal proceedings against him, ranging from investigations into his role in the 2021 Capitol attack to the handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
