The information was confirmed by the American CNN. Thus, the decision by the representative of the Palestinian people comes after an alleged Israeli bombing of a hospital in the Gaza Strip, which reportedly killed hundreds of people.

The United States has defended Israel’s right to retaliate against Hamas with bombings in the region.  Therefore, on his trip to the Middle East, Biden will also visit Israel.

This is the US president’s first visit to the country since the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hamas on October 7. The surprise attack by the radical group generated retaliation from Israel against the Gaza Strip.

Namely, at least 500 people were involved in an alleged Israeli bombing of a hospital in the Gaza Strip this Tuesday (17).

The information, according to the Al Jazeera news agency, was provided by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The attack on the al-Ahli Arab Hospital was classified by Palestinian authorities as a “war crime”.

The profile on the social network X (formerly Twitter) of the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the attack, carried out by Israeli planes, resulted in “the death of hundreds of Palestinians, including children and women”.

With that, Mahmoud Abbas declared three days of mourning in the face of the attack on the hospital. The information comes from the official Wafa agency, which confirmed “a large number of people killed and injured”.

To date, the war between Israel and the radical group Hamas has resulted in more than 4,400 deaths. The survey takes into account information from the Palestinian Ministry of Health with data released by the Israeli Embassy in Brazil until this Tuesday.

In an official statement, the White House states that “the President offers his most sincere condolences for the innocent lives lost in the bombing of the hospital in Gaza and hopes that those injured recover quickly.

He intends to meet personally with these leaders (of Arab countries) soon and commits to remaining directly and constantly engaged with each of them over the next few days.”
