Biden, who is running for re-election for the Democratic Party, stated that the former president’s victory makes him the “clear favorite” in the internal Republican dispute for the nomination to run for the White House.

In a message to voters aimed at raising campaign donations, Biden wrote: “It looks like Donald Trump just won Iowa. He’s the other side’s favorite right now.

But here’s the thing: This election was always going to be you and me [voters] versus the extremist Republicans. It was true yesterday and it will be true tomorrow.”

It is worth remembering that in the 2020 American elections, Biden frustrated the Republicans re-election plan, in a campaign marked by strong polarization in the country.

At the time, the vote against Trump was considered decisive for the Democrat’s victory.
